That is, if you want to be a Doctor of Education. A lot of people do. Dr. David Rock, Dean of the Columbus State University College of Education and Health Professions, told members of the Rotary Club of Columbus, Georgia that the college has been overwhelmed with applicants for the program.
The college plans to enroll 25 applicants for the first year and 60 in three years. Rock says more than a hundred people have expressed interest in applying for the program, which gets started in Janurary.
While many of those applicants live in other areas, the program will really be convenient for Columbus area people. Rock, says, “Our local edcuators’ closest options have presented significant barriers: Auburn with its high cost and Georgia State with its commuting distance.”
During this time of state budget cuts, which have also affected CSU, the dynamic of growth in many ways continues to prevail at the school.
